Man U Wins Again! 9 Points Clear At The Top

Man U Wins Again! Can They Hold On To Win? Have Your Say Here.

Report from Soccernet.com

Manchester City's 32-year wait for an Old Trafford win goes on as United moved another step closer in their quest to end a three-year title drought with a 3-1 derby triumph.

Louis Saha sneaks in United's second.Cristiano Ronaldo's late goal ensured the Red Devils marched nine points clear of Chelsea at the Premiership summit, although Sir Alex Ferguson might not have been too happy at the way his side failed to cruise home after Wayne Rooney and Louis Saha had put them two in front at the break.

For 12 nervy minutes after Hatem Trabelsi's magnificent effort had breathed fresh life into a contest which saw City battle hard without ever looking likely to win, United were a bundle of nerves.

But Ronaldo calmed them by turning home Rooney's cross six minutes from the end, before Bernardo Corradi was sent off at the death.

Having already established a six-point lead over a Chelsea side who face Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, there was much more than just local pride at stake for Ferguson's men....Read More....

M’brough 1 - 2 Man U : Did Ronaldo Dive?

Man U won again and extend its lead. Do you think that they will be Champion this season? By the way, do you think that Ronaldo had dived? What do you think?

Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo plunged himself into further controversy as the Barclays Premiership leaders claimed a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough.

Referee Chris Foy awarded United a 19th-minute penalty after Ronaldo had gone down under keeper Mark Schwarzer's challenge, although replays suggested the anger of the home fans was justified.
Louis Saha exorcised the ghost of his Champions League miss against Celtic by sliding home the spot-kick, but United were pegged back on 66 minutes when substitute James Morrison equalised.

However, United needed less than two minutes to restore their advantage, Darren Fletcher heading home the winner.
That United deserved to lead at half-time was not in any doubt, but the way in which they achieved it left a sour taste in the mouths of the home fans.

Saha turned just inside the Boro half to race past Jonathan Woodgate and slide a pass to the unmarked Ronaldo. He took the ball in his stride and cut inside Schwarzer, plummeting to the ground in the process.

Foy pointed immediately to the spot, but what contact there was, if any, was minimal. However, Saha stroked the spot-kick past Schwarzer to make it 1-0 ....Read more....

Man U & Chelsea Win Again - Is This Going To Be A 2 Horse Race?

Man U & Chelsea win again. It seems like the EPL is becoming a 2 horse race. What do you think? Have your say.

See the report from BBC below.

Manchester United maintained their three-point lead at the Premiership summit with a comfortable win.

Sir Alex Ferguson's much-changed side struggled to find rhythm early on, but Cristiano Ronaldo broke the deadlock with a 20-yard finish after 39 minutes.

Everton had no cutting edge and Patrice Evra scored his first goal for United from a tight angle after 63 minutes.

Substitute John O'Shea wrapped up the win with a flicked finish from Evra's cross two minutes from time. ...Read more....

Henry derserved award instead of Cannavaro?

The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is obviously upset that his Arsenal captain, Henry was not named the European Player of the Year!!! Do you agree? Does Henry deserve the award. Have your say now....

Report from Soccernet.

Wenger: Henry deserved award, not Cannavaro

Arsene Wenger has insisted it was a 'mistake' not to name Arsenal captain Thierry Henry as European Player of the Year - and that the World Cup was 'lowest level' of football.

Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro took the prestigious Ballon D'Or - awarded by France Football magazine - ahead of countryman and Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, both of whom tasted success in Germany this summer.

France striker Henry, 29, meanwhile, was third - despite having helped Arsenal reach their first European Cup final and also reaching the World Cup final for a second time with Les Blues.

For Wenger, the decision was unjust.

'It is a mistake,' declared the Arsenal manager.

'It shows that the people who vote look only at the World Cup, which when you speak about elite football, in my opinion, is the lowest level in football that you can see at the moment.

'They make their decision on that.'

Wenger continued: 'If you see Italy playing against Togo or South Korea you cannot say that Cannavaro has a good game or even Thierry Henry has a good game, that he is the best player in the world - look at the players he plays against.

'To be consistent in a big championship like in England or in the Champions League for me would be much more appropriate than three weeks in the World Cup.'

So, what do you think? Do you agree with Arsene Wenger? Have your say.

Bolton vs Chelsea: Who Will Win? By How Many Goals?

Bolton must be in high spirit, after beating Arsenal. Will they be able to defeat Chelsea? What do you think?

See the preview report from Soccernet below:

Bolton v Chelsea

Bolton assistant boss Sammy Lee has claimed it is far too early to start labelling Andriy Shevchenko a #30million flop.

Despite his lofty reputation, the Chelsea striker has done little to justify the enormous price tag that saw him prized away from AC Milan.

After seven years in Serie A, the Ukrainian has struggled to adapt to the hurly-burly of Barclays Premiership life and has so far scored just three times in league combat.

Shevchenko was virtually non-existent during Sunday's draw at Manchester United and rumours are already circulating that the 30-year-old will be offloaded, if not in January then at the end of the season....Read more......
